An efficient ENERGY alternative
The Future of Mobility
CONTRIBUTE TO CLEAN MOBILITY, WITH ZERO EMISSIONS. PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN TRANSPORT
Electric vehicle users can charge their vehicles in various locations: at home, or using publicly accessible charging stations and in spaces such as car parks, shopping centers or service areas.
HOW ELECTRIC MOBILITY WORKS
USEFUL INFORMATION TO PURCHASE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE
ACQUISITION OF
AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Currently there are already several brands that sell electric vehicles, with models that offer longer autonomies and allow for longer trips. Try our mobility simulator and see the advantages of the electric vehicle.
Mobility Simulator
Compare an electric vehicle trip with an internal combustion one. Use the simulator available at CINERGIA – Energy Information Center (cinergia.pt)
CHarging
In addition to being able to charge at home, you can charge the electric vehicle at all MOBIE.E Network stations, choosing between charging at normal or fast charging stations. Depending on the charging mode you choose, the duration can vary between 1 hour to 12 hours.
ADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC MOBILITY
MAINTENANCE
Reduced costs, as there are fewer components to be replaced or cleaned. Revisions every 50 thousand kilometres (check with the manufacturer). These are some of the advantages associated with electric vehicles.
TAX BENEFITS
Exemption from Vehicle Tax (ISV) and Single Circulation Tax (IUC) for 100% electric vehicles (BEV) and reduction of ISV to 25% for plug-in hybrids (PHEV). In some municipalities in Portugal, parking for electric vehicles is free. There are also incentives for the acquisition of low-emission vehicles, described in Dispatch nº 3169/2020.
Zero Emissions
An electric vehicle has the advantage of not emitting greenhouse gases, thus improving the environment and contributing to the sustainability of resources.
CHARGING AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Useful information so you can charge your vehicle more efficiently
4 IMPORTANT STEPS TO Charge YOUR VEHICLE
You can charge your vehicle directly to the wall outlet or as an alternative to a wall box that you can order from one of the various CEMEs available;
Find a charging station. Don’t forget to check if it allows fast charging and if you have your type of socket.
When going to the charging station, identify yourself with the card or through an App that the charge is billed by your CEME at the price you contracted which will add the cost of using the charging station. Connect the plug to the car to start charging.
Your vehicle is charging. The autonomy depends on the charging time and the type of charger used (normal or fast).

HOW TO CHARGE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE
CHARGING AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE IS SIMPLE AND PRACTICAL
Choose and establish a contract with an electric mobility supplier (CEME), and you will receive the card at home so you can charge your electric vehicle

HOW to charge?
Four charging modes are available. Mode 1 with a direct connection to an electrical outlet, the slowest being. Mode 2 by installing an electronic adapter thus avoiding direct connection to the outlet and optimizing the capacity of the batteries. Mode 3 through the installation of a wallbox, provided by the CEME. And there’s Mode 4 for direct current and fast charging.
CONNECTORES
There are 5 types of connectors:
For alternating current (AC)
• Type 1 or SAE J1772 connector
• Type 2 or Mennekes connector (more usual and supplied with the vehicle)
• Type 3 or Scame connector
For direct current (DC)
• CHAdeMO connector
• CSS connector
CHARGING TIME
They depend on the charging mode and battery capacity. Take a 40 kWh battery as an example. In the case of mode 1, in a conventional outlet, it can take up to 12 hours, depending on the contracted power. In the case of mode 3, with a wallbox this value can be halved, that is, 6 hours. In the case of mode 4, fast charging can charge up to 80% of the battery in 1 hour.
