Photovoltaic installation

Self-consumption can reduce the electricity bill by up to 80%.

HOW TO REDUCE YOUR ELECTRICITY BILL?

In recent years, the installation of solar photovoltaic systems for self-consumption has become popular. The installation of small photovoltaic solar systems for self-consumption has been increasing, simplifying the installation process (you can consult our article on self-consumption) and allowing a better return on the energy produced.

IF THE ENERGY PRODUCED IS NOT SOLD TO THE NETWORK, HOW DO I GET BETTER REMUNERATION?

Photovoltaic panels produce electricity, usually between 8 am and 5 pm, coinciding with the period when their electricity consumption is highest (considering the public opening hours from 9 am to 7 pm) and electricity is more expensive. In the  tariffs area, you can see that the regulated tariff on a three-hour basis, you can see that the energy consumed in these periods has a price of 0.22 € / kWh in peak hours, and 0.17 € / kWh in hours flooding, that is, if you have installed a photovoltaic panel that allows you to reduce the purchase of energy from the grid during these periods, it will be equivalent to selling the energy produced by the system to the electricity grid at those same prices.

Other tips
  1. Seek the support of a professional to help you through the process and ensure that you choose the solution that best suits your needs.
  2. Consult more than one supplier. Ask for several quotes and select the one that best responds to your needs and with the best installation conditions.
  3. Confirm that the proposed equipment is certified according to the European Standards in force.
  4. Look for a guarantee for your equipment (10 years in materials and labor, 90% of the minimum rated power for 10 years and 80% of that for 20 years).
  5. Perform periodic maintenance to the solar photovoltaic systems: clean the panels to remove dust and other debris, check for shading, damage to them and the fixing structure and connections to the inverter and meter.
Case study

A company with an average annual electricity consumption of 8,000 kWh (4,000 kWh / year in floods, 2,500 kWh / year in peak and 1,500 kWh / year in empty), which is equivalent to a monthly bill of € 192 (considering the tariff values regulated bi-hourly with daily cycle).

The installation of a photovoltaic kit for self-consumption with an installed capacity of 1,500 Wp, occupying an area of 10 m2 oriented to the south and with a slope close to the local latitude, allows an average annual production of 2,250 kWh / year.

This kit represents an investment of € 1,460 and an annual saving of € 428 in energy, corresponding to a reduction of € 36 in your monthly bill, which represents a payback period of less than 4 years.

The energy produced by the panels would be used to power 18 portable computers (60W), with an use of 8 hours / day, for one year (264 working days).
