Water saving device

The production of domestic hot water (DHW) is the second largest factor of energy consumption at home, representing 24% of the total energy consumption.


By installing a water saver, you will reduce water consumption as well as the amount of energy required for heating.

The flow reducers are complementary parts to the taps and showers that replace the traditional mains filter and allow to reduce the water flow by more than 50%, thus reducing consumption.

The principle of its operation is the emulsion, that is, the insertion of air in the water, which originates millions of microbubbles. In this way, the water flow will be halved without loss of volume. As a result, you will have the feeling of using the same amount of water while maintaining pressure.

Sem economizador

O caudal de uma torneira convencional é de 8L/min. Uma utilização de água quente durante 15min. corresponde a um consumo anual de 70€.

Com economizador

O caudal de uma torneira com economizador é de 2L/min. Uma utilização de água quente semelhante corresponde a um consumo anual de 20€.


Ao instalar economizadores de água poderá obter reduções anuais nos consumos de energia na ordem dos 50€.

Other tips
  1. Avoid the use of hot water for quick washes, such as washing hands or teeth, in order to avoid unnecessary energy and water consumption, because by the time the hot water reaches the tap, the washing has finished, but heating system went into operation, wasting energy;
  2. Turn off the water tap while washing your teeth, hands, shaving or doing the dishes;
  3. Change the baths for showers – a shower can consume about four times less water than a bath;
  4. Install temperature regulators with a thermostat, mainly in the shower, as these allow to save between 4% to 6% of energy;
  5. Setting an operating temperature between 30ºC and 35ºC is enough to convey a feeling of comfort in personal hygiene.
Energy Label

Since September 2015, all new installations for the preparation of hot water must have the energy label.

The energy label applies not only to products, but also to systems, that is, heating solutions consisting of conventional heaters, temperature controllers and / or solar thermal systems.

  3. Water heating function with load profile indication
  4. Energy efficiency class of the water heating system
  5. Seasonal efficiency class of traditional heater
  6. Indication that the system includes a solar device
  7. Indication that the system includes a hot water tank

  9. Indication that the system includes a complementary heater
